Travel west from Killybegs will take you to our Blue Flag Beach, Fintra Beach, just a 5 minute drive from the Hotel. The world famous cliffs of Slieve League are situated in the small village of Teelin, just a short half hour drive from the Hotel. In Glencolmkille, the Irish speaking Donegal Gaeltacht, home to many of Ireland's famous musicians including, Enya, Clannad, Altan, and Daniel O'Donnell. The view from Glen Head in Glencolmkille is amazing! Why not visit the Silver Strand Beach in Malinbeg while in Glencolmkille - try the 140+ steps to be bottom!
Traveling east from Killybegs is the busy market town of Donegal Town. Popular attractions include Donegal Castle (seat of the O'Donnell's Clan), the Donegal Bay Waterbus which offers tours of Donegal Bay and Magee of Donegal - famous througout the world for it's clothing manaufactured from Donegal Tweed.
North of Killybegs are the Donegal Highlands featuring the Derryveagh Mountins and Mount Errigal which overlook the small Atlantic costal villages and the numerous beautiful blue flag beaches dotted along the Donegal coastline.
The most popular visitor attratction in Donegal and the North West is Glenveagh National Park & Castle: Glenveagh is a 19th century castellated mansion and was built between 1867 and 1873. Its construction in a remote mountain setting was inspired by the Victorian idyll of a romantic highland retreat and is situated within 16,500 hectares of mountains, lakes, glens and woods with a large heard of red deer. The 19th century castle is surrounded by the famous Glenveagh Gardens. The visitor centre and the ground floor of the Castle is accessible for people with disabilities.
